Coffee Bean kitchen cabinets are stained solid white oak in a warm mid-tone brown — deep enough to anchor a room, open enough that the oak grain still reads across every door and drawer front. Because the finish is a stain rather than paint, grain and figure vary naturally from piece to piece. Two doors cut from different boards will not carry identical figure, and rays and flecks characteristic of white oak show through the stain. That variation is the material doing what wood does, not a defect.
Every cabinet ships RTA (ready to assemble) in Contractor Grade A construction, flat-packed to keep freight and damage down. All hardware needed for assembly is included. Cabinet handles are not included, which leaves the pull choice — matte black, brushed brass, satin nickel — entirely yours.
What "1-1/4 inch overlay" means on these cabinets
A 1-1/4" overlay means each door and drawer front covers all but 1/4" of the face frame to its left and right, leaving a narrow, even reveal between adjacent doors. Above the top drawer on a base cabinet, 1" of face frame stays exposed so the countertop's front edge lip clears the drawer front. The result reads almost frameless from a few feet back, but keeps the strength and squareness of a face-frame cabinet.

How the base cabinets are configured
Width decides the door and drawer layout. A 9" base is a single full-height door with no drawer. From 12" through 21", you get one drawer with a 6-1/2" face over a single door with a 22" face. From 24" through 36", that same drawer sits over a pair of doors. Every base cabinet includes one adjustable 3/4" shelf — except sink bases, which have no shelf.

Is Coffee Bean a dark cabinet finish?
No. Coffee Bean is a mid-tone warm brown, not an espresso or near-black finish. It sits several shades lighter than the darkest stained cabinets on the market, and the white oak grain stays clearly visible through it. In a kitchen with average natural light it reads as a warm walnut-brown rather than a dark, light-absorbing surface.
Will every door match?
Not exactly, and that is by design. Coffee Bean is a stain on solid white oak, so grain, figure and the depth of colour vary from board to board. Doors from the same order will read as one finish family, but individual pieces will differ — most noticeably between flat-sawn and rift-sawn faces. Painted cabinets are uniform; stained oak is not.
What is the difference between Coffee Bean and the natural white oak line?
Construction is identical — same 1-1/4" overlay shaker door, same 3/4" solid oak frames, same 1/2" 7-ply plywood box, same soft-close hardware. The only difference is the finish: natural white oak carries a clear UV finish that leaves the wood its own pale colour, while Coffee Bean adds a warm mid-brown stain before the lacquer goes on.
Do these cabinets come assembled?
No. These are RTA cabinets — ready to assemble — which is how the price stays well below assembled and big-box cabinetry. Everything needed to assemble them is in the box, including the hardware; a small amount of glue is recommended when assembling drawer boxes. Most installers assemble a standard base cabinet in well under fifteen minutes.
