Skin Panel Cabinet Side & Back for 1-1/4" Overlay Coffee Bean Oak Shaker Cabinet

The Coffee Bean island panel is a 34-1/2" x 96" x 1/4" finished skin that covers the exposed back of an island or peninsula, so the side your guests see matches the side your cabinets show. It ships oversize and gets trimmed to your run on site — one panel covers a standard 8-foot island back in a single piece, with no seam down the middle.

One face is finished in Coffee Bean over solid white oak veneer; the reverse is left raw, since it faces the cabinet box. At 1/4" thick the panel sits flush against the plywood ends without throwing off your countertop overhang.

Because this is stained white oak rather than paint, grain and figure vary naturally from piece to piece. A panel cut from one board will not carry identical figure to the door beside it — plan on the panel reading as the same finish family, not as a grain-matched continuation of a door.

Where the island panel goes

Island and peninsula runs leave the back of the cabinet box exposed — raw plywood facing into the room. The island panel covers that face. Order Outside Corner Molding (OCM8) for the outside corners, where the finished cabinet side meets the exposed plywood edge; without it, that joint reads as an unfinished seam from every angle in the room.

The same panel works on a peninsula back, on the exposed end of a tall run, and as a finished filler behind a seating overhang.

Shipping — read before ordering

This panel ships only as part of a full kitchen order. It cannot ship on its own, and it travels only on 42" x 96" pallets. If you are ordering the panel by itself, it will not move — add it to a cabinet order instead. Free shipping available on qualifying orders.

Frequently asked questions

What size island does one panel cover?

One 96" panel covers a standard 8-foot island back in a single piece with no seam. At 34-1/2" it matches standard base cabinet height, so the panel runs from the floor line to the underside of the countertop. Islands longer than 8 feet need a second panel and a planned seam, ideally landing at a cabinet joint.

Can I cut this panel myself?

Yes, and you will need to. The panel ships oversize and is trimmed to size on site. We can custom cut it to approximate size at no charge before it ships, which cuts down what you handle on the job, but the final fit cut is always done at installation. Score the finished face and cut from the back to avoid chipping the lacquer.

Do I need the corner molding?

On any outside corner, yes. Where the finished cabinet side meets the exposed plywood edge of the panel, you get a visible raw seam. Outside Corner Molding 8' (OCM8) closes that joint and is finished to match. A straight run with no outside corner does not need it.

Is only one side finished?

Yes. The face that shows is finished in Coffee Bean; the reverse is raw because it sits against the cabinet box. If your application leaves both faces visible — a freestanding divider, for example — you need two panels back to back, or a different part. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure.
