Trash belongs behind a cabinet face, not beside the island. This one hides it entirely and reads identical to the cabinets on either side of it. Ready to assemble, contractor grade A, in Manhattan Cream shaker.

What's in the box

15" — one trash can. Single pull out unit fitted for the included can.

18" — two trash cans. Single pull out unit fitted for both included cans, so trash and recycling ride out together.

Both widths include one drawer with a 6-1/2" tall face, dovetail joinery on the solid birch drawer box, on full-extension soft close undermount glides with peg lock. Below it, a single door with a 22" tall face.

Trash cans are included with the cabinet.

How the pull out works

The pull out hardware mounts to the cabinet interior, and the door attaches to the front of the hardware rather than to the cabinet on hinges. Pull the handle and the door and the trash can come out together as one unit, riding on full extension soft close glides — it won't slam back on a full can.

That's why the door has no swing arc to clear, which matters when you're placing this cabinet next to an island or in a galley run where a swinging door would collide with foot traffic.

Trash can pull out cabinets do not include shelving. Skin panels are required for exposed sides and are painted to match the cabinet front. Handles are not included — you'll need one for the pull out door to function.

What "1-1/4" overlay" means

Doors and drawer fronts sit on top of the face frame instead of inside it, wider and taller than the opening, covering all but a sliver. Only 1/4" of face frame shows to the left and right of each door and drawer front. On base cabinets, 1" of frame is exposed above the top drawer — deliberate, and there to clear the front edge lip of your countertop, which varies by material and edge profile.

The pull out door carries the same reveal as your standard cabinets, so nothing about the run gives away which one holds the trash.

The finish

Manhattan Cream in a factory-baked, water-based UV-cured lacquer with a satin sheen. Cured under UV lamps in a controlled line rather than air-dried on site, which is why it resists moisture, steam, and abrasion better than a field-applied finish — worth something in the one cabinet that gets opened with a full hand and closed with a hip.

How it's built

Solid birch and plywood, not veneer over composite. The face frame is 3/4" solid birch. Side panels are 1/2" 7-ply plywood, joined to the face frame with a French cleat and reinforced with a plywood side band. The interior is natural birch plywood in clear polyurethane, and the back panel is grade A finished natural birch over engineered plywood for rigidity. Corner brackets hold the box square during installation.

Drawer boxes are solid birch with dovetail joinery — glue the dovetails when you assemble. Hardware carries a lifetime warranty. California CARB2 compliant.

Before you order

All exposed exterior cabinet surfaces require skin panels and trim to finish, and toe kicks require skin panels matched to the cabinet front. Budget for these — they're what makes an installed run look built rather than assembled. All assembly hardware is included. Handles are not included.

FAQ block

Are trash cans included?
Yes. The 15" comes with one, the 18" with two.

Should I get the 15" or the 18"?
The 18" if you separate recycling from trash, since both cans ride out on the same pull out. The 15" if you only need one can and want the extra 3" for cabinetry elsewhere in the run.

Does the door swing open?
No. The door is mounted to the front of the pull out hardware, so it travels straight out with the trash can rather than swinging on hinges. Useful in galleys and next to islands where a door swing would be in the way.

Do the trash cans slam shut?
No. The pull out rides on full extension soft close glides, same as the drawer.

Does the trash pull out cabinet have a shelf?
No. The pull out unit occupies the lower interior.

Do I need a handle?
Yes, and handles are not included. The pull out is operated by pulling the handle on the door.

How deep is the cabinet?
24" for the box, 24-3/4" including the door.
